What’s so entertaining about an app that allows you to pay for fuel from your car?

Well, we started with two game-for-a-laugh Formula 1 drivers and a radio idea about the app being the death of the Great British Queue…

At the end of January 2024, the UK was hit by an arctic cold snap. It was pretty chilly. 🥶

Following previous bold work from KitKat, which harnesses the unmistakable power of the brand, we seized the moment to say what 
we were all feeling with a responsive outdoor and social campaign.

We pitched the idea; the client loved it, got it designed and then live in the world in less than 36 hours!

It then proceeded to gain quite a bit of attention.

With a global market of switched-on PlayStation gamers within easy reach, SONY asked us to showcase the key benefits of buying titles directly from the PlayStation Store. We decided to take each benefit separately, and with the help of the brilliant artists at We Are Royale, we created a bespoke animated character that walked the viewer through each benefit in a quick and entertaining scenario, with a look and feel to the environments that would resonate with gamers – and encourage them to venture into the Store.

Ford wanted some fun, engaging social content to promote their in-car subscription features - things like video streaming & karaoke on Fords Premium Connectivity, and advanced route planning on Connected Navigation.

These features don’t just make driving easier or more fun - when you’re in your own space, they almost transport you somewhere other than your Ford. Like how such advanced navigation feels like you could be piloting a spaceship or streaming a period drama on your infotainment screen can make it feel like you’re in one.

We turned that idea into a series of short films that bring this to life in a fun, lighthearted way.

They’re rolling out across Ford’s site, YouTube, and social and there is hope we will continue to add more films to this series.

For Virgin Media, being 'always on' 24/7 is hugely important in a fiercely fought over sector. Between integrated brand campaigns, we ran bespoke, punchy creative that needed to trade hard to generate sales. However, the trick was to ensure that each campaign hit (or often exceeded) its targets with as much craft and character as the brand campaigns.

The All-Electric Ford Explorer needed a hero film to reflect its dual personality of high-tech premium build and adventurous nature. So I created a lifestyle story about a landscape photographer who goes exploring the mountains of Vilamala outside Barcelona, crossing over stunning viaducts along the way. It was a pleasure to work with the very talented director Charlie Bray and the whole Hogarth Worldwide team to bring this to life.

A hero film was needed to introduce the 7th generation All-New Ford Mustang. Directing an awesome team of talented CGI and AI specialists, we created several films and other content to bring the rebellious spirit of the 5.0ltr V8 Mustang to life across Ford’s website and social media.

From TV ads and radio spots to print and online, we ensured that Virgin Media presented a consistently premium look and tone to each campaign, from the brand ad right through to the campaign's more hardworking direct/brand response creative. This 'one look, one voice' approach ensured that customers got all the feels with a consistent experience, wherever and however they interacted with the brand.

To generate a sense of anticipation and urgency for the event, we had a silly idea about chocolates. But it wasn’t a silly idea for very long. So an alluring chocolate box with a motorised lid was crafted, scale models were painstakingly wrapped in foil, and all were lovingly shot. Hey presto, our silly idea had some serious money thrown at it, to become an integrated campaign embraced by the client and enthusiastic VW dealerships around the UK. Advertising’s a funny old game.

To boost sales and to reflect their new forward-thinking brand positioning, the AA looked to us to replace their dated and overplayed ad with something a lot more engaging and a little different. But importantly, this essential form of marketing still had to work hard for them like a good direct response ad should.

Equity release isn't the sexiest thing to advertise, but it plays an increasingly important role in Aviva's portfolio of services, which they wanted to shout about. Like most financial products, it's a tricky sell to potential customers of a certain age, with many industry restrictions, so we wanted to draw on their market-leading expertise and heritage in this area, but were determined to avoid the daytime TV tropes with wooden non-actors standing around with mugs of tea in a kitchen and talking unconvincingly to camera. It took some client handholding, but we created an ad that did what we wanted it do do, whilst remaining true to the client's wider brand look and feel.

We were were brought onto the account to oversee the brand's look and messaging as it transitioned from a well-received brand TV ad into harder-working channels. Our greatest challenge was how to take a potentially problematic tortoise – the epitome of 'slow' – to symbolise something positive. The fact that the ad saw Terri the tortoise rollerblading down a road – and not taking the train – didn't help. So we decided to focus on ensuring Terri appeared as a passenger in a train environment, and focused messaging around the feeling you get from a stress-free journey – tying in to the brand's promise of 'feel good travel'.

For one of Sky’s biggest-ever launches, we were tasked to roll out the exciting new Sky Q campaign across multiple channels.

Key to it was to unpack, explain and dramatise how Sky Q’s groundbreaking Fluid Viewing technology revolutionised their customers’ experience.

Having established a connection with a young, music-first crowd through Miller Music Amplified, we were briefed to develop a global platform through which the brand could begin speaking to a more fashion-conscious audience. With Miller’s mantra of ‘experience the exceptional’ ringing in our ears, we came up with the Miller Design Lab. For its first incarnation, US fashion guru Jeff Staple has curated the first limited edition collection, in collaboration with four international artists.

 A competition to win one of 100 exclusive Miller Design Lab jackets kicks things off – with each global territory following up by hosting their own exceptional events in urban pop-up Miller Design Lab spaces.

Commercial vehicle dealerships (or ‘van’ dealerships to everyone else) are often overlooked when it comes to marketing spend and creative campaigns. Well, we wanted to shake things up (and cheer up the dealers too). So, drawing inspiration from their core audience and placing them at the heart of the creative idea, we gave them their very own aftersales campaign. They loved it.

Greenies asked us to create snappy 6-second OVOD and social films to promote their ingenious Pill Pockets – a clever doggy treat designed to take the stress out of giving dogs their medicine. We wanted to avoid the pitfall of boring instructional videos, so to quickly engage dog lovers and to help them see just how tasty and hassle-free these things are, we sprinkled our films with some Wes Anderson - inspired personality and charm.

Africa is ultra-passionate about football - particularly the English Premier League. With a strong desire to strengthen their association with football across the continent, Guinness committed to a multi-million pound investment in Guinness Football Manager – a fantasy football game everyone could play on their mobiles – an idea well established in the UK, but revelatory to the African market. Supported by a new game show ‘Raise Your Game’,  passionate football fans could at last prove they could raise their game by proving how knowledgeable they are about the beautiful game.

TV spots publicised the game show and urged fans to get involved with the directive that 'Now you're the boss', while brand-led ads challenged our young audience to ‘raise their game’.

Sky regularly partner with film studios to promote their various offerings. For us, it was always a challenge to integrate film studio assets with Sky’s assets, and follow both parties’ strict brand guidelines, whilst making a hardworking, visually appealing and compelling piece of comms. This Sky Movies campaign was one of many.

To dramatise Sky’s new sports offering to a passionate audience, we harnessed the drama of the individual sports themselves to carry the message. Trawling through hours of footage, we selected key moments that would resonate with each audience. Instant drama!

With Sennheiser having an established reputation with audiophiles and professionals, our brief was to bolster its credentials with a younger, street-smart crowd.

So we harnessed the talents and charisma of multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Labrinth, and dreamt up an idea that was simple yet inspiring: 'Project Noise'. Let our boy Lab explain...

 Asking people to think about handing over some of the value of their home to fund an extension, a cruise or anything else isn’t an easy proposition. But that’s what the Telegraph asked us to do to promote their Equity Release offering. We steered well clear of the naff ‘talking heads’ route, and instead produced something more visually engaging and characterful, yet true to the client’s brand look and tone of voice.

Experiential launch activation

The concept behind this 'I AM NIKON' shopping mall stand was to create an interactive experience that would be impossible for people to walk by without wanting to stop and investigate. What better way to do that than building a photo booth in the shape of a giant camera, where you can take the biggest selfie to share with your social network!

We were asked to create theatre and stand-out on the day of the march, embracing and celebrating Pride’s overarching message of inclusion and diversity. We took the colourful, fresh produce synonymous with Tesco, and combined that with the joy and exuberance of the celebration of Pride - practically ‘bursting’ from every activity along the campaign trail.
